RSA New Contemporaries 2022

The RSA New Contemporaries Exhibition 2022 if finally here! Both as physical exhibition and digital showcase, the RSA New Contemporaries brings together 56 emerging artists and architects graduating from the Scottish Art Schools in 2020. The exhibition features a wonderful array of painting, sculpture, film-making, photography, printmaking, installation, performance and architecture.

It was a huge privelege to have been selected for the New Contemporaries from my Gray's School of Art Degree Show in 2020 and it has been a highly anticipated 2 years wait for the exhibition. I made the work in the show specifically for the exhibition, and the boat 'To Land Upon an Island', has remained hidden away for a year (due to the postponement of the show). Despite this, it gave me the opportunity to make even more work and I am incredibly delighted to share with you the largest pieces I have made yet.

I am extremely grateful to the @royalscottishacademy for the opportunity and I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone involved in making such an incredible show.

The opening night on the 25th Feb was a very special evening, seeing friendly faces from my residencies, jobs and reuniting with classmates from my course. It is an honour to have my work shown in the main gallery space Gallery II and to have had the award ceremony taking place in front of my work.

I was thrilled to be awarded The David and June Gordon Memorial Trust Award for my drawings. I would like to thank the panel of judges for selecting my work for the award.

I would also like to congratulate my fellow 2020 graudates from across all of the Scottish Art Schools. We did it!!

The exhibition can be viewed in the Digital Showcase:

The physical show is open until the 3rd April, The Royal Scottish Academy, The Mound, Edinburgh.
