The art world has become used to virtual shows, websites and online viewing platforms as a way of showing the work we have been creating.
I was delighted to have taken part in quite a few of these online shows in the past few months, but there is something that just never quite does the artwork justice when seen through a screen. Fortunately, the circumstances are slowly changing and galleries are beginning to open and invite visitors back into the spaces (safely of course).
The GreenGallery in Buchlyvie is one of these galleries which has had the pleasure of welcoming people back into the space. I was delighted to have been invited to take part in the Mini Grad Show Exhibition at this gallery, alongside 8 other art graduates from Scotland. The show opened on the 15th August with a live Facebook tour hosted by Becky, the gallery owner and Jan Patience who is one of Scotland's most respected art journalists. The tour is still available to view on the Gallery's Instagram and Facebook pages or through this link https://youtu.be/yp17nWtcYVU . You can also see all the work for sale on the website : https://www.greengallery.com/
I am really pleased that some of my work has already sold, and some pieces are still available! The work is going to continue to be shown in a new exhibition at the Gallery - The BIG Summer Exhibition - which opens this coming Friday (28th). I encourage you to visit the gallery especially on Saturday when a Arts and Crafts Market will also be taking place.
For the past two years I have hosted my own Summer Exhibition in August to share the work I have made whilst at University. This year due to restrictions and in order to keep people safe, I have decided that I will post all of my degree work on Facebook for you to see instead. The Gray's Virtual Degree Show space is also still live so you can also see the work in a virtual space at www.grayshow.com
Thank you for reading and make sure to have a look at my Facebook show which will go up before the end of the month!
